Ain't About What's Waiting on the Other Side. It's the Climb, Yea. -Miley Cyrus

Wow! What a tiring yet rewarding last couple of days! Friday was our biggest day yet, cranking out a total of 70 miles. We spent a lot of time on the bike going through beautiful country, and we didn't exactly have wineries or anything to distract us so we just kept moving right along. We stayed near Blue River at Delta campground, strategically picked so that we could drop off all of our things in order to zip 7 miles up a hill to the hot springs at Cougar Reservoir. With no luggage and the determination to soak in the hot springs before it closed, I am pretty sure we morphed into super humans for a bit in order to sprint up that hill. The hot springs were.... What weren't they!? I don't think we could have been anymore satisfied. Plus the naked people were rather amusing and oddly friendly. Well, odd should have been expected though, right? The hot soak was what we needed to recharge for our biggest climb yet. 1,000 feet up to 5,335 ft over Mckenzie Pass. We rode our bikes up a MOUNTAIN! (Therefore the appropriate Miley Cyrus song lyrics) We started off sweating in short sleeves and ended up in snow! As well as lava fields. It took us all day to get up there and about 20 min to coast down into the next town called Sisters, named because of the incredible view of the Sisters' Peaks. After a looong night of sleep we are getting in gear for another day. This trip has allowed us to experience so many new things so far and we only hope that this continues, but we aren't really doubting that! We hope to be inspiring you all as you read about this once in a lifetime journey!

Rockin our O of U Swiftwicks on the O of U campus in Eugene.

Just one of the many views of Oregon's beautiful rivers. We are going to have to work in some paddling!
Woohoo! 1,000+ ft more to go!

Natty gettinit!

Am I the only one looking snow in June?
